Art is a partner with the firm Hite, Fanning & Honeyman L.L.P. A seasoned litigator with over 35 years of experience, he practices principally in the areas of civil litigation and insurance coverage litigation. He is admitted to practice in Kansas state and federal courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.

He frequently authors material for and presents continuing legal education programs. Since 1990, Art has been an author for the insurance chapter featured in the Kansas Bar Association's (KBA) annual survey.
Art received his B.B.A. and his J.D., cum laude, from Washburn University. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Council and a staff member of the Washburn University Law Journal. At the conclusion of law school, he was made a member of Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity based upon his academic achievements.
