Bio

Linda Parks specializes in business transactions, banking, commercial real estate, creditors' rights, bankruptcy and estate planning. With a broad and diverse practice, she provides legal counsel to financial institutions on high-value loan transactions, loan purchases and sales, and contractual and operational matters. Additionally, Linda served as a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee from 2003 to 2024.  She is also an active member of the Kansas Bankers Association.

Her client base spans a wide range of industries, including large and small financial institutions, major construction companies, national franchisees, and various local businesses. Linda also works closely with individuals on business and estate planning matters.

Linda served as the managing partner at Hite, Fanning & Honeyman, until 2023, having served in that position from the firm's inception. In 2011, she was appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court's Blue-Ribbon Commission, tasked with evaluating and making recommendations about the Kansas court system. In 2020, Linda was appointed by the Governor to serve as Chair of the Court of Appeals Nominating Commission for the State of Kansas.  She has been very active in a number of bar associations and currently serves on the Commission for Women in the Profession of the American Bar Association.

Representative Experience

Banking and Financial Services

  • Represents  major banking enterprise in dozens of multi-million dollar financing transactions, involving a wide variety of secured lending transactions in connection with negotiation, documentation and closing of loans.
  • Represents major banking enterprise in the purchase and sale of multi-million dollar loan packages, including servicing rights for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac transactions.
  • Represents major banking enterprise in the day-to-day world of banking issues, including consumer loans, consumer relations, powers of attorney and vendor agreements.

Real Estate

  • Represents large restaurant franchisee in the acquisition, development and finance of numerous restaurants in a variety of states, including the negotiation of purchase or sale agreements, real estate title matters and closing the transaction.
  • Represents numerous real estate holding companies and developers in the negotiation of real estate purchase and sale agreements for large apartment complexes and a variety of commercial industries, as well as long term leasing and financing arrangements. 

Business and Bankruptcy

  • Broad based experience serving as outside “general counsel” for many clients
  • Recovered over $2 million from bankruptcy estate, including more than $1 million in gold coins in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding as Chapter 7 Trustee.
  • Represents major construction company in the negotiation of high-end construction project documents, corporate governance and financing transactions. 

Estate Planning & Probate

  • Represent hundreds of individuals in their estate planning needs from the smallest to multi-million-dollar estates.
